People often talk about Fashion as a ‘waste of money’ and that following trends is ‘unnecessary’. Surely enough, all of this might be true, however, how does fashion become a billion-dollar industry then?

This is an easy outlet for them to launch new collections, create buzz, go behind-the-scenes, etc. Designers are now able to showcase their Fashion Shows live on Facebook and other social media outlets.

 

Fashion is no longer limited to magazines. People inspire all over the Internet. Bloggers have taken the opportunity and turned it into a massive network. They are now paid to endorse products and create desire through their social media channels and blogs. They are vastly followed by people globally and make an impact in the fashion world.

 

Not only is fashion creating jobs for bloggers and social media content creators, but also there are many other opportunities in retail. Whether it’s marketing, advertising, buying, styling, editorials, etc. Fashion is a growing industry and the people who tend to discard it as useless might have to change their perspective sooner or later.

Fashion weeks also attract a lot of media and provide great venues for advertising. Advertisers are now mixing fashion with their own products.
