13 Sep All trap-house songs sound the same

I love rap music. But do you want to know what really grinds my gears? The fact that lately most trap-house rappers have the exact same sound and use the same lingo in their songs. They all refer to women as “bad bitches” or hoes or to money as pesos or gualla. They also have the similar up-tempo beats in the background of their music; I mean you can’t even find a different sound? There is no diversity, which makes me wonder how in the world these men are famous and make millions of dollars.

I am guilty of listening to this crap music and I once thought it was amazing. I used to blast the music as loud as I could and rap along with pure pride. I even dreamed of marrying a rapper and becoming the perfect housewife. When trap music first came out it was extremely new and edgy but now I realize how commercialized the whole scene has gotten. I mean Miley Cyrus, Demi Lavato, and even Katy Perry have or are currently on the bandwagon. They worked with rappers like Future, Gucci Mane, Juicy J, or 2Chainz to try and refresh their image while letting these men degrade them and other women.

One thing that really confuses me is when rappers drop one song and say that they don’t trust these hoes because they are only with them for their money. How they have sexual interactions with these women and discard them when they are finished. But then a few months later they make a new song about how they are going to “save a hoe”.  What is saving a hoe you may ask? Well that’s when a rapper promises to buy you a house, fast cars, and designer products. Now I know I don’t have control over what these rappers say or do but for goodness sake pick one! You can’t “fuck them and dismiss them” but then say you want to save a bad bitch, it makes no sense and you are confusing these poor women.

I must say that I am very disappointed with the whole trap house scene and wish that they could turn on a positive note once and awhile. They could encourage the kids listening to the music to put their minds on their schoolwork and not to skip and sell drugs or how to properly respect women and not just use them for sexual intercourse. This is a dream that I really wish could come true.
