10 Dec The Crown

So I recently started a new series on Netflix called The Crown. The show follows the reign of Queen Elizabeth and how her life and family changes as she takes The Crown. It’s filled with drama and emotions and will definitely have you tearing up on more than one occasion. The Crown has been on my list of things to watch for a while now and I’m binge-ing pretty hard. I’m currently on episode 9 of the first season, and by “recently started” I really mean I started the show just two days ago. Each episode is about an hour long which means I’ve spent quite a bit of time on Netflix the past couple of days (not sure where I found that time…). The show follows an accurate timeline of events that occur during The Queen’s reign, making it not only an entertaining show, but a truly informative one as well. Queen Elizabeth came to reign when her father, King Richard passed away in his sleep after battling with lung cancer. Attempting to remain strong for the country and his family, King Richard never told anyone the true extent of his illness, so when he passed away suddenly, Queen Elizabeth was next in line for the throne but was unprepared for the responsibility. Claire Foy who portrays Queen Elizabeth in the show, does an excellent job of capturing The Queen’s essence and sense of weight on her shoulders that comes with the title. The show ,in my opinion, is extremely well done and an accurate representation of the history of the royal family of Great Britain.

10/10 would recommend watching this show next to anyone who enjoys period dramas, if you’ve watched Downton Abbey and loved it as much as I did, you need to watch The a Crown next.
