11 Dec How Veganism is Forward Thinking
It’s 2017 and there are endless diets trending through the use of social media, etc. It has never been easier to share what you’re eating at the click of a button. It has also never been easier to see what is in your food. The food industry has grown into a huge market in recent years that has helped many people with current health issues. A large topic in the food industry that has been revealed is animal agriculture. The documentary “Cowspiracy” directed and narrated by Kip Anderson was the very first to reveal the truth about animal agriculture and the effects it has on our planet. It is a great documentary for anyone to watch because it does not try to convince you for two hours that veganism is the best thing for you, but it states the truth and real facts that bring you face to face with reality. Animal agriculture is the number one leading cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution and habitat destruction. Not to mention there are millions of animals unethically harmed every year to be food on our plates. It has been a hidden secret because the companies that are raising animal agriculture are billion dollar industries. There are many recorded murders of activists that have tried to speak out to this massive issue. In other words, we are basically eating our planet to death.
Many people have questioned whether a vegan diet can actually sustain someone, especially if you are raising your family on a vegan diet. It has been proven that meat alternatives have equal, and sometimes more proteins and calcium’s. We have been trained to believe that “milk gives you strong bones” and “you need meat to survive”. But all of this is just your brain hearing it repeatedly. It’s not true facts, and it’s time that we realize the truth before it’s too late.
