I love shopping. In store, online, high end, low end, you name it! I have always been very observant of the service you receive from different stores, so I have decided to do a shopping analysis based on three lingerie retailers to compare customer service and prices.

I chose retail stores La Senza, La Vie En Rose and the lingerie section at Saaks Fifth Avenue as they sell the same commodity, lingerie yet have very different target markets. I chose to obverse at the Eaton Center as it is the most convenient for me and has a large variety of stores to choose from. I went at 11am on Sunday morning before the mall got too busy.

La Senza: They have great customer service, the staff is very friendly and professional that is always readily available to help. Staff take the time to measure your cup size and help find what style of undergarment works best for you. Every receipt includes instructions to an online customer satisfaction survey asking for feedback and once completed customer receives a discount of future purchases keeping consumer engaged with company. La Senza is known to have great customer loyalty. Customers tend to start buying intimates at an early age from La Senza Girl then graduate to La Senza and stay loyal with the company based on familiarity with the products. La Senza stands out from its competitors because it has the same quality as Victoria Secret with lower prices and more promotions as well attracting a younger demographic than La Vie En Rose. Based on their younger target customer who statistically have a more disposable income, this leads to more products being bought compared to the mature money conscious La Vie En Rose shopper.

La Vie En Rose: At this store the staff were friendly, yet did not initially offer me any help unless I asked for it. I notice that the staff were more inclined to be more forthcoming to older customer as that is there target market. The store is practical, not too trendy, and slightly conservative with reasonable prices.

Saaks Fifth Avenue: This store is very high end and with beautiful, clean interiors and a wealthy clientele. The lingerie section was not very busy and there were no staff associates insight. After about 5 minutes I noticed a staff member approached an older (30) customer, better dressed than me. The staff did not look or approach me at all until I asked them a question.  The merchandise starts at about $100 dollars and is very simple, luxurious and delicate.
