19 Mar Spring Trend 2018: Top shoe picks!

Spring is almost here, and we can all agree that we are over the winter boots. Here’s something to look forward to: spring 2018 shoe trends. The footwear styles for this upcoming spring season did not disappoint, as they brought forth lighter color palettes, loud shapes, and a few moments of nostalgia.

Read on to see my favourite spring 2018 shoe trend picks

  1. PVC Details

The Spring ’18 runway shows were full of PVC goodies, and designers incorporated similar clear pieces into their collections too. Clear shoes are definitely nothing new. I mean, working girls have been swinging around poles in the see-through stilettos for decades. The controversial trend has even trickled into mainstream stores such as forever 21.

2. Mule Heels

Who has time for fussy straps and buckles. Just slip a pair on, and off you go, looking as if you haven’t tried too hard, but are just effortlessly stylish. I love the casual look of a mule especially paired with some loose denim jeans with a oversized button up shirt. These look extra comfy on a day you don’t want to be bothered with strappy or laced up shoes. just slip on and you are read and trendy to go. 🙂

3. Socks and Sandals

Socks as a way to funky-fy your look is trend that is here to stay. Designers are breaking the most basic of shoe rules, and pair socks with sandals in a variety of ways. On the spring 2018 runways there were low strappy heels worn over bright neon socks, as well as flat sandals styled in a similar fashion. The socks were often knee-high, contributing to a school-girlish effect that was cheeky and youthful. This is personally my favourite. I wore socks and open toe shoes to Toronto Fashion week this year and everyone loved it. I wore it with a full millennial pink outfit which really showcased a youthful and cheeky look.
