22 Mar How to Stay Calm During Week 12

We all know week 12 can be rough. The work builds up and the breakdowns roll in. Here are some tips to stay calm and slay those final assignments.

1. Get Lots of Sleep

I know, i know – you don’t have enough time in your day. Sleep is for the weak. You can sleep when you’re dead. But trust me, everything is worse when you’re tired. Two assignments feels like twenty, five minutes take thirty, and the next thing you know your pencil lead breaks and your world comes crumbling down around you. Keep the breakdowns to a minimum this term and get a full eight hours.

2. Don’t Get Hangry

Your mind can’t work on an empty stomach, so you just end up staring at your screen anyway. Then you will start snapping at your classmates, your family, your friends, and your significant other and everyone starts avoiding you at the end of the term. Make sure you are packing at least three snacks to get you through the day.

3. Make Lists

Organization is key. Even if you don’t want to create a calendar with all your events for the term or carry around a planner, you should still make a list of final assignments. Instead of going over and over it in your mind, you get to see a visual and physical embodiment of your tasks and you get to to cross them off as they are completed, which is super satisfying. Plus, it will help you to stay on track so you can get your eight hours and clear your mind so you can remember to bring food.

4. Create A Morning Playlist

Have something uplifting to listen to in the morning or on the way to school. Something that sets the mood like ‘Good Day’ by Nappy Roots or something that makes you laugh like ‘The Duck Song’. Either way a list of songs that automatically put you in a good mood will get you ready to take the week by storm.
