Many retailer companies are created by Canadians but coming from the province of Quebec, I wanted to choose a retailer from “home” that I personally love, Aldo. This industry was born in downtown Montreal more than four decades ago. Now, it has expended all around the world from Canada to Japan passing by Dubai. The ideas of its creator, Aldo Bensadoun are loved and amplified each time that a new product comes in store. Aldo has mastered his target market by thinking of their clients first and aiming for what they need to be satisfied.

Firstly, this industry touches a big part of the population by being accessible to adult men and women by giving them many different items to choose. The shoes that you can find in store are always following the newest fashion trends. Variety is key for this retailer, their goal is to offer diversity as much in their shoes than in their accessories for both genders. Furthermore, quality is extremely important because Aldo have some huge competitors in the shoe industry.

Secondly, the success of a company tells a lot when it comes to its location. From the corner hidden behind the mall to its heart were everyone passes. Usually, Aldo is located in the most circulated areas of the mall.

Thirdly, their price range is highly competitive with other stores because they sell quality, fashion and affordable in one pair of shoe. When a customer enter in an Aldo store they know what to expect from the product as well as the rest as the shop, and that no matter in what area or part of the world their at. If we take the time to compare with his competitors, Aldo isn’t a luxury brand  but they’re still able to compete other good brands like Steve Maiden, Little Burgundy, Browns, etc., thanks to their style.

Fourthly, Aldo stays trendy because they understood how to stay in touch with the public’s eye and their smartphones. Each time a client purchases a product, their email is entered so the company can send them informations on the new collection for the next season or the future promotions and more. You can also see them on your Facebook pages or on Instagram, the social media is their whey to keep a connection between the retailer and the customer. The screens of an iPhone/Samsung are becoming more popular than a magazine, reason why they are so popular to the public’s eyes.

Even with a great product, an industry must have other strengths in order to stand out. This includes the service that the clients receive when they enter the until the moment that they step foot outside of the store. Also, a  big strengths is their partnership with others’ like “Call it Spring” and Globo. They bring more variety to people for them to have more choices and for them to keep up with the latest trends. Lately, Aldo started to open some “Aldo Accessories” were they just specialize in jewelry, hats, earrings, bags and more for the customers,  so they can complete their looks.

The improvements of Aldo Shoes as grown so quickly than now everybody knows them and that, all around the world. Each opportunity they saw, they have taken it and to give to the next generation is part of what them. “WE SEE THAT THE ALDO GROUP’S ACTIVE ROLE IN SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IS MAKING POSITIVE CHANGES IN THE WORLD AND THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH WE LIVE.” – Aldo Bensadoun. This is a positive business perception that will create a movement in order to help the one in need. Those action will only save people and the planet but it will also give a excellent image to the company.

Even with all the efforts that a company makes, threats are always there, sometimes it’s not just the competitors but, the environment that surrounds us. Now, in 2017, a lot of people are starting to get affected to the economy that is not as its peak and will eventually “attack” the sales of companies. Also, people are getting more aware of the nature that surrounds us and so, are more careful with what they by and the materials that their products are made of, this will eventually create a change in how the shoes will be made.

In conclusion, the success of a great company is not just a good product but an assembly of great service, diversity in what you sell and quality in each model. Aldo is known now for is trendy fashion and their attention to the planet as well as the people that live on it that need our help and love.
