As the televised series of Gossip Girl was created as a marketing tool for designers, it’s only fitting that the main characters themselves had some of the most striking fashion moments on television. Here are a few of them:

 

S01 E10 Hi, Society

Serena’s Pamela Dennis couture brocade column gown for cotillion is to die for. We are all glad that Serena’s grandmother CeCe showed up to talk her into participating.

 

S01 E04 Bad News Blair

After skipping out on Eleanor’s photo shoot with the clothes that were supposed to be photographed, Blair and Serena do an impromptu shoot near Central Park, modeling bright red and blue dresses that provide the ultimate Spring fashion inspo.

 

S02 Eo9 The Serena Also Rises

Following season one, Gossip Girl  debuts an Eleanor Waldorf fashion show at New York Fashion Week. But the really important debut here is Jenny Humphrey, as Blair caused problems by sending Serena down the runway in one of her designs, ultimately legitimizing her.

 

S02 E20 Remains of the J

When Serena decides to plan a Sweet 16 for Little J, she takes it a little overboard to prove she’s still the party queen of the Upper East Side – to Jenny’s great and vengeful disappointment. One thing Serena did do well however is make sure J was best-dressed for the episode.

The two best wedding dresses of the century. Serena sports a glamorous gold Georges Chakra Couture gown, while Blair is hugged by a Vera Wang gown with multi-layered Chantilly lace applique.
