13 Sep Fuelling the Soul Mentally, Physically, and Spiritually.
Recently I have been inspired to do a complete self-improvement overhaul. I am talking mentally, physically, and spiritually. Basically, this inspiration came after a long ride up north back home to Thunder Bay, Ontario. With the 15-hour long drive not including stops you could say I had a lot of time to think and reflect. Along with the abundance of fast food and soda.I know what you may be thinking there are some healthier options. Um… no, there isn’t. It’s not a road trip back home without stopping for the massive pizza pops from Longlac Pizzeria and their poutine or coney dogs and fries from Coney Island, how about the Hoito’s, which is a Thunder bay must-go-to while visiting home for those delicious Finnish pancakes. I personally order since I could remember, pancakes, bacon, side of gravy and fries. It sounds like a nasty combo, but trust me the sweet and savoury of them, too good.
Now you could see where the physical improvement comes into play. After indulging in all of this greasy goodness I decided to get motivated for a physical self-improvement. By deciding to go to the gym and regaining myself… physically speaking. This includes eating well, deciding to give myself an hour a day for a good sweat.Ok, rewind back to my road trip and the long drive, hours of scenic views nothing but green with the odd wild life along the highway. Between the sun rise and the sun set you kind of get this Zen feeling come about as you’re lost in thought. As I am taking in all the scenery I decided you know, why not tap into every aspect of my life and start to nurture it, rejuvenate my mind, body and soul.
Through home improvements introducing Feng Shui into my home, meditation into my morning routine, joining a gym, and taking up yoga. I have found that these are just some ways that I have jump started my overhaul of self-improvements. Also reading some positive affirmations helps as well too, to reassure myself I can do this. Through my journey of positive reinforcements, I plan on keeping track of my progress and will keep you posted.
