13 Sep The Ultimate Appetizer
As I’ve grown up, nights on the town have slowly turned to dinner parties at home. Our little black dresses, vodka waters and restaurant dinners have turned into jeans, wine and homemade appetizers. As my lifestyle changed and I matured, I can honestly say that cooking became something of a passion to me. I love creating new recipes and realistically I just love to eat. With the countless dinner parties, countless appetizers have been made, and in my opinion I think I have found the ultimate appetizer for any occasion, “Buffalo Chicken Dip.” It is s one of the easiest recipes to make and can be so versatile with how its served, it truly works for every occasion.
Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe:
1 (8 oz) pkg Philadelphia cream cheese, softened.
1/2 cups Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Wing Sauce.
1/2 cups Chunky blue cheese salad dressing
2 cups Cooked and shredded chicken breast
1/2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
Sports Night – Out with the old nacho dip and in with the classic version of buffalo dip. Simply put all the ingredients into a casserole dish, cover with tin foil and bake for 10 minutes to melt the cheese. Once its done, serve with Tostitos Scoops.
Girls Night – Meat and cheese platters will never go out of style, but its nice to have some different options. Bake the dip in the oven for 10 minutes and serve with celery and crackers. The celery will be a refreshingly light alternative the crackers.
Luncheons – Cucumber sandwiches will always have a place but buffalo chicken served on cucumber with a tomato and chives is a step into the future. The cucumber and tomato perfectly compliment the buffalo chicken dip, and skipping the crackers makes this perfect appetizer for light luncheons.
Dinner Party – Phyllo pastry is something sent down from the heavens, I swear every single food tastes delicious wrapped in this flakey pastry. A tasty, and classy way to serve this delicious dip is to make tiny muffin cups out of the pastry and simply scoop the made dip into the cups before serving. Add chives and a drizzle of ranch across them for extra added flavours.
Holiday Dinner – Puff pastry appetizers, filled with spinach, cheeses, sausage, mushrooms, etc have always been a staple appetizer at my own holiday dinners and buffalo chicken puff pastries are a game changer. You simply roll the finished dip into little balls and put the puff pastry around it. Set them on a tray, lined with parchment paper, cook for 15mins at 375 F and you have these perfect buffalo chicken pastry bombs. Serve them with ranch dressing for the best tasting app.
All of these options can be easily switched for different occasions depending on your own personal preferences, its such a versatile appetizer, any option really works for any occasion.
Enjoy !
