FASHION – A LOVE AND HATE RELATIONSHIP

I remember loving fashion early on, from being like any little kid playing dress up, I’ve just always been in love with the fantasy of it. I got caught up in studying the details of the garment: how fabrics felt, and how prints and colors looked and slowly becoming obsessed with mix and matching.

Somewhere along the way while looking for a way to pay my rent and buy my morning coffee, the real world hit me. I love the industry and I want to be a part of it but at the same time, I’m starting to develop a “love-hate” kind of relationship with the idea of Fashion, the more I get to know it. I notice the exclusive parts of the industry — beautiful, perfect people with glamorous closets that remind me of what I don’t have or what I don’t look like. The truth is that fashion spotlights gorgeous things and newness, and that superficial world can be a scary p

lace to make your livelihood in.

I’ve always though I didn’t belong to my generation, probably because I am fascinated by the old days that I can only read in books now, where everything seemed different from now, more genuine more real.

The good thing is that in term of fashion, old fashion trends repeat themselves over the years. Those trends that were followed in the 18thor 19th centuries are now again fashionable. The only difference in these fashion tendencies is their modernization. And I love it!

In addition, If I could ever open a business It would be a consignment store where I would offer people a sure way to create your own unique look wh

ile enjoying and appreciating the green aspect of shopping gently-used. If an item may be done in your wardrobe… it might be just what someone else is looking for! I believe that truly good design never goes out of style and that’s what fashion is all about: Timeless looks that showcase your individual personalities would be the result of putting together outfits “on your own”, being creative and standing out from the crowd.
