10 Dec The Days of Our Target Life
When Target came to Canada in 2013, I was recently graduating high school and starting to look my for first part time job. I decided to apply to Target Canada and it was the best decision I ever made.
Once I got hired at Target, I instantly felt welcomed. Everyone I met at Target became family to me. Especially one of my co-workers named Amanda. I walked into Target thinking of it as just a job and turns out I found a best friend for life and I ended up wanting a career with the company. As the time went by working at Target opportunities kept rising for me and I kept learning new jobs and skills within the organization. After a year of working there, I knew I wanted to keep moving up with the company and I would have been satisfied working there forever. I honestly really loved Target.
The connection I shared with all my co-workers was beyond work, we all just clicked so well, even with the higher management, there were always there to talk to or even joke with. Amanda and I had some crazy adventures at Target too, I remember this one time we were merchandising the soft line section, which was their fashion section, we literally just sat on the floor for like half an hour laughing and gossiping about life, while still working of course, we were labelling all the tables. Amanda and I didn’t mind working either, it felt like practically lived there by how much many hours we would willing work. We even joked one day about popping up a tent and having a Target sleepover.
I didn’t just enjoy working there though, I also really liked their products. When Target decided to close all their Canadian stores, it was honestly one of the saddest days of my life. Even if I wasn’t going to work there forever, I still wanted to shop there. Target is still probably one of my favourite stores to shop in, I just don’t get to do it very often as I do live in Canada, one day when I move to the states to somewhere warm, I will be reunited with Target and be the happiest girl in the world.
