19 Mar Be Yourself Part 3
…My conclusion is that its something rooted with im them. If you have had a negative experience in your life and that experience as grown into a root (usually diseased) that sickeness in the root can grow into and infest the rest of the tree.
I realised that you cannot control the actions of others but you can control how you react to them.
I realised that for years the soil around me wasn’t ideal for my growth. I was an evergreen in a desert, struggling to be nurtured.
I had lost my culture, my spirituality, myself, and I was in a displaced environment.
I had to relearn how to trust, I had to redefine my spirituality, I had to travel physically and emotionally until I found an environment where I coul thive.
I was not going to let this experience uproot my tree.
In order to find myself again I went to the Creator , and asked him who I was and who I could be. I did this through meditation, reading and community. I did this with love, love for my God, love for myself , and love for the people around me.
To be your true self , you have to love your true self (faults and all) and the only way your can do that is by knowing who you are through the one that created you .
“For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters,
That spreads out its roots by the river;
And will not fear the heat when it comes;
But its leaves will be green and moist.
And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought
Nor stop bearing fruit.
