22 Mar My Favourite Celebrity Stylist

My favourite celebrity stylist is Christine Centenera, currently one of the world’s most influential. She is both the fashion director of Vogue Australia and is believed to be paid as much as one million dollars to dress and style Kim Kardashian. Christine worked as a style consultant for Kanye West in 2011, after which he introduced her to his wife and “since meeting the Australian stylist, Kim has taken on a fashion-forward neutral wardrobe, favouring minimalistic silhouettes and high-fashion footwear. I admire Christine for spanning across different careers in the fashion industry and not only creating Kim’s style, but inspiring and influencing it with her own. Christine’s personal look consists of “a cool mix of wardrobe styles, edgier pieces, and slick materials from the likes of Givenchy, Bolmain, and Balenciaga”. I love edgy styles that incorporate the perfect accessories and different pieces you wouldn’t expect to see together and that’s what Christine is known for. I think it is important for everyone to have a sense of style, especially those in the fashion industry, even if they are behind the scenes. Centenera encompasses my life goal of always being a fashionista and my career goals of having more than one path and putting together outfits for a living.

This year, Christine is working with a friend named Josh Goot to bring limited edition items into ‘direct-to-consumer retail’ that are high-quality without the retail markup. These in-season pieces are designed in New York and produced in Italy and Christine is calling them “the opposite of fast fashion”. The women’s wardrobe is inspired by Centenera’s own style foundation, speaking to how she dresses everyday and consisting of both four-piece and eight-piece bundle options. The four-piece consists of a blazer, menswear-inspired shirt, a t-shirt and a skirt. The eight-piece also includes a long tailored coat, a Merino wool knit, a silk blouse, and a zip legging. As a fan of Christine’s personal style I am very excited for this launch by the Austrailian power duo.
